Thank you for visiting the blog. Our goal is to be able to keep you informed about the Biblical evangelism activities that we are involved with and thoughts regarding evangelism. Our hope and prayer is that God will use us to bring lost souls to Him, and that we can be an encouragement to those who visit this blog.

Ambassador's Academy

We are excited to go to the Ambassador's Academy in California in the beginning of March.  While we have been to evangelism boot camps in the past this will be the first one that we have gone to that is being ran by Way of the Master.

Please keep us in prayer as we go and share the Gospel along with 50 like minded brothers and sisters in Christ.  We know this will be an edifying experience for us and help us to glorify God more and we hope to be an encouragement to others as  we bring back what we learned to help us equip others better.  We would also encourage everyone to attend one of the Ambassador's Academy trainings.  A variety of people go, from people who have never handed out a tract to those that open air preach regularly.

Latest Biblical Evangelism Crash Course

We were blessed to be able to lead a Biblical evangelism crash course this past Saturday in Show Low, AZ at Calvary Baptist of Show Low. The class was wonderful. We had 40 people attend from 7 different churches in the area. We had great feedback from the attendees. It is amazing to see the light click in someone's head when they hear the Biblical principle of using the law to proceed the Gospel and the necessity of repentance towards God.

Here's some photos from the class:

Mark talking to Ryan and his kids. Thanks Ryan for bringing everyone together for this class
.

Elaine prepping food for the class.

Ryan also told us after the class that he would like to have us back again and that he believes they will be able to fill their main sanctuary!

We pray that God will work in everyone who attended the class and that they will produce fruit for Him.

Dead in Sin

We cannot lose focus on what we were saved from.  Too many times the condition of man prior to regeneration is not made clear.  This is common from the pulpits in churches, with laymen and women sharing their faith, and with much of the literature out there on evangelism.  That is why I am so thankful for resources provided by groups like Way of the Master that practice Biblical evangelism using the law as a schoolmaster, bringing the sinner to Christ.

It is not just that Jesus died for our sins, but that because of our sins, God sent His Son to die, taking our sins upon himself so that we may have eternal life through repentant faith in Jesus Christ.  Our sins, each and every one of us.  What was our condition prior to coming to saving faith?

Ephesians 2:1-4 (ESV)
And you were dead in the trespasses and sin in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience-- among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.

We were spiritually dead; I repeat DEAD.  Were we weak or lame, or perhaps we had to use crutches to hobble along spiritually until God came and put His arm around us to lift us up, helping us walk spiritually.  That is not what the Bible tells us.  The Bible tells us “You were dead in your trespasses and sins”.  Can someone who is dead walk?  Can they look up to God?  Or lift their hand, begging God to save them?

To paint this picture of what we looked like spiritually and what God did to save us, we need to look no further then to God’s Word to what I see as the most vivid picture of what it means to be spiritually dead and the miracle God performed to save each one of us.

Ezekiel 37:1-14 (ESV)
The hand of the LORD was upon me, and he brought me out in the Spirit of the LORD and set me down in the middle of the valley; it was full of bones.  And he led me around among them, and behold, there were very many on the surface of the valley, and behold, they were very dry.  And he said to me, "Son of man, can these bones live?" And I answered, "O Lord GOD, you know."  Then he said to me, "Prophesy over these bones, and say to them, O dry bones, hear the word of the LORD.  Thus says the Lord GOD to these bones: Behold, I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live.  And I will lay sinews upon you, and will cause flesh to come upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and you shall live, and you shall know that I am the LORD."
So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I prophesied, there was a sound, and behold, a rattling, and the bones came together, bone to its bone. And I looked, and behold, there were sinews on them, and flesh had come upon them, and skin had covered them. But there was no breath in them. Then he said to me, "Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, Thus says the Lord GOD: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live."  So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived and stood on their feet, an exceedingly great army.
Then he said to me, "Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. Behold, they say, 'Our bones are dried up, and our hope is lost; we are indeed cut off.' Therefore prophesy, and say to them, Thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I will open your graves and raise you from your graves, O my people. And I will bring you into the land of Israel.  And you shall know that I am the LORD, when I open your graves, and raise you from your graves, O my people.  And I will put my Spirit within you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I am the LORD; I have spoken, and I will do it, declares the LORD."

What a blessing and miracle it is to be saved from the state of spiritual death that we were in.  And how wonderful it is to know that the one true living God has the power to bring us from death to life.  Thank you God for soundly saving me!
